Largo-Tibet Elementary has been recertified as a Leader in Me Lighthouse school. This recognition highlights the school's accomplishment in achieving all components of a fully functioning Leadership Academy. Originally, Largo-Tibet was the first school in Savannah-Chatham to receive this designation back in 2021, following a four-year process by the school staff.

To secure recertification, Largo-Tibet had to demonstrate proficiency across multiple areas including Culture, Academics, and Leadership. The Lighthouse Review Team praised the school for its leadership tenets and made two suggestions for further development. They encouraged the school to explore more opportunities for student involvement in decision-making processes and to enhance school-wide events through collaborative planning, execution, and reflection involving students, staff, and families.

The Lighthouse Certification is established by FranklinCovey as a prestigious standard that any Leader in Me school can achieve. This certification signifies that schools have met high standards and produced excellent results in both academic and student outcomes through dedicated implementation of their programs. Additionally, it reflects the significant impact these schools may have on their community including staff, students, parents, and beyond.
