The Landings Art Association (LAA) has announced its Annual Penny Day Thompson Grants for the 2022-2023 school year. A total of $2850 will be distributed among 19 art teachers in Title I Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) elementary schools, allowing each teacher to purchase $150 worth of classroom materials to enhance their curriculum. Additionally, LAA has contributed $1000 to support the Telfair Museums' Children's Art Museum, a reimagining of the former ArtZeum.

These contributions are funded by donations received during the LAA annual Spring Art Show Silent Auction. The proceeds from this year's event will fund the 2023-24 LAA Community Outreach program. The Spring Art Show and Silent Auction is scheduled for Monday, May 2, from 5-8 PM in the Palmetto Ballroom. All artwork for auction will be donated by LAA members, with proceeds benefiting LAA's arts education community projects.

Beyond these grants and museum support, LAA has recently extended its assistance to Savannah Arts Academy and Bethesda Academy, along with various other community organizations.
