Savannah Mayor Van R. Johnson, II has been elected as the Second Vice President of the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors. The decision was made during a special election on December 19. This new role highlights Mayor Johnson's dedication to supporting local governments nationwide.

"As we face shared challenges and opportunities, I am committed to collaborating with my colleagues to champion policies that empower our communities and improve the lives of our residents."
In addition to his new position, Mayor Johnson has been named one of Georgia Trend’s 2025 Most Influential Georgians for the fourth consecutive year. This accolade acknowledges his significant contributions to Savannah and Georgia through his leadership and commitment to public service.
