Savannah city offices closed for President's Day; sanitation schedules adjusted

City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, February 17, in observance of President's Day. However, emergency services will continue to operate.

The holiday closure will affect sanitation services. Residential garbage and yard waste collection services will not occur on Monday, February 17. These services will resume on Tuesday, February 18, following a one-day delayed schedule.

Recycling services are also affected; they will not run on Monday, February 17. Recycling operations will resume on Tuesday, February 18, covering Monday’s route. The collections for the rest of the week will follow a one-day delayed schedule.

The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, February 17. The Dean Forest Landfill is set to reopen on Tuesday, February 18, adhering to its regular schedule. Meanwhile, the Bacon Park Transfer Station will reopen on Wednesday, February 19 as per its usual schedule. Street sweeping services are also suspended for Monday but will return to their regular timetable starting Tuesday.
