The Leadership Savannah Class of 2024 commenced its program with a comprehensive exploration of the local justice system. The Law & Order program provided participants with insights into public safety and court operations.

The event began at the Chatham County Detention Center, where Sheriff Richard Coleman discussed jail operations and law enforcement challenges. Participants then engaged in a discussion over lunch with Savannah Police Chief Lenny Gunther, Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley, and Counter Narcotics Team Director Michael Sarhatt. This conversation offered perspectives on crime prevention, regional collaboration, and public safety initiatives.

In the afternoon, the class visited the new Chatham County Trial Court Building. Judges Tim Walmsley, Elizabeth Coolidge, Tom Cole, and Joe Hoffman shared their experiences within the judicial process to provide a deeper understanding of legal proceedings.

Leadership Savannah expressed gratitude to Judge Greg Sapp and board members for organizing this informative program. The day aimed to enhance appreciation for local law enforcement and judicial systems while emphasizing collaboration in maintaining community safety.
