The Chamber's Tara Reese recently hosted a podcast featuring Dara Calleary, Ireland’s Minister for Social Protection, Rural & Community Development, and the Gaeltacht. The recording took place at Billy’s Place above McDonough’s and was organized in collaboration with the Savannah Irish Festival Committee, Frank Groom, Irish Consul—Atlanta, and Nicole Sheils, Vice Consul—Atlanta.

During the podcast episode, discussions covered various topics including the role of the Irish Festival in preserving Irish culture, historical ties between Ireland and Savannah, perspectives from the Irish government on the global Irish diaspora, and the economic contributions of Irish businesses in Georgia and across the United States.

The conversation underscored the importance of celebrating Irish culture year-round and aimed to strengthen connections between Ireland and Savannah. The Festival Committee expressed gratitude to Minister Calleary for his involvement. The episode is set to be released soon.
