Visit Savannah has announced that Jeff Hewitt, its Chief Sales Officer, will retire on December 31 after more than 40 years in the tourism and hospitality industry. Hewitt has spent the last 15 years with Visit Savannah, playing a key role in promoting the city as a leading destination for meetings and conventions.

Since joining Visit Savannah in 2010, Hewitt contributed to significant growth in room night production and played a part in the expansion of the Savannah Convention Center. His work focused on strengthening relationships within the industry and enhancing Savannah’s reputation as a tourism hub.

“Jeff’s impact on Savannah’s success as a meetings and tourism destination cannot be overstated,” said Joseph Marinelli, President & CEO of Visit Savannah. “His deep industry knowledge, relationship development, and passion for this city have helped shape how the world sees Savannah and how we tell our story. While we will certainly miss his leadership, we are extremely grateful for the legacy he leaves behind.”

The Chamber and Visit Savannah teams have expressed their gratitude to Hewitt for his dedication over the years and wished him well in retirement.
