Each spring semester the Benedictine Military School Spanish 3 Honors students in Mr. Peter Newman’s class create their own film interpretation of Uruguayan author Horacio Quiroga’s dark comedy “La gallina degollada” (“The butchered chicken”). The story is a parody of what Quiroga sees as skewed priorities in the lives of the emerging middle class during early 20th century South America.
