In the last Georgia Legislative Session, State Representatives Ron Stephens, Jan Tankersly, and Jesse Petrea sponsored House Bill 1550, which expanded the Bryan County Board of Elections and Registration from three to five members. As a county electorate grows, the responsibilities of the election board grow and require more people to carry out the duties of the board. This change is made at the state level for all counties.
The two additional member’s terms are to begin after July 1, 2022 and end in December 31, 2024, with the option to be reappointed. The Bryan County Board of Commissioners will select two board members in a future meeting.
