Benedictine Military School’s sport shooting team finished in first place in its final qualifier of the season Saturday. The Cadets’ final target count was 908/1000, four targets ahead of second place and 19 targets ahead of third place. For this qualifier, each of our Cadets shot at 100 sporting clays  targets in the morning followed by 50 skeet, and 50 trap in the afternoon. The team score of 908 is based on the top five Cadets’ cumulative scores and, in this case, is based on the birds hit out of 1000 targets thrown. The Cadets finished as follows: freshman Jim Reynolds Morrison led the Cadets with 185, followed by junior Charlie Moody 184, freshman Mills Hollis 182, sophomore Drake Cooper 181, freshman Gavin Walmsley 176, junior Jake Dyches 172, junior Walker Zador 170, sophomore John Adams 167, freshman Jack McKenzie 166, freshman Sam Anderson 165, freshman Alex Ray 153, freshman Elliott Moody 152, and freshman Anthony DeMott 152.

Some highlights included Jim Reynolds Morrison 50/50 in skeet, 47/50 in trap, and 88/100 in sporting, Charlie Moody 49/50 in skeet, 49/50 in trap 86/100 in sporting, Mills Hollis 47/50 in skeet, 48/50 in trap, 87/100 in sporting, sophomore Drake Cooper 45/50 in skeet, 93/100 in sporting, freshman Gavin Walmsley 46/50 in trap, and 89/100 in sporting, Jack McKenzie 45/50 in skeet, 84/100 in sporting, junior Walker Zador 48/50 in skeet, sophomore John Adams 45/50 in trap, and 80/100 sporting, freshman Sam Anderson 46/50 in skeet. Cadets Morrison, C Moody, Hollis and Cooper all finished in the top 15 out of all of the shooters participating.
