Savannah city offices to close for Memorial Day; sanitation schedules affected

City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Emergency services will remain open.

Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday closures. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule:

Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services will not run on Monday, May 27. Collection services will resume on Tuesday, May 28, and proceed on a one-day delayed schedule.

Per the normal recycling collection schedule, there will be no curbside recycling collection this week. Street sweepers will not run on Monday, May 27. Street sweepers will resume their regular routes on Tuesday, May 28.

The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will both be closed on Monday, May 27. The Dean Forest Landfill will reopen on Tuesday, May 28. Bacon Park Transfer Station will reopen on Wednesday, May 29.

Residents are encouraged to consult the Sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year and make note of what day sanitation collection will happen on their route.
