The City of Savannah has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new fountain in Kavanaugh Park. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, will honor the 50th anniversary of the Ardsley Park Chatham Crescent Garden Club and commemorate Mary Robinson Myrick's contributions to the city's green spaces.

Myrick (1888-1983), who founded the Ardsley Park Chatham Crescent Garden Club in 1973, was instrumental in establishing the Fragrance Garden for the Blind in Forsyth Park and played a significant role in the Keep Georgia Beautiful initiative.

The installation of the fountain was undertaken by the Ardsley Park Chatham Crescent Garden Club and presented to the City of Savannah.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at Kavanaugh Park, located at 100 Washington Ave., on Wednesday, June 12 at 2 p.m.
