The City of Savannah Economic Development Department is inviting residents of westside Savannah neighborhoods to attend a “Pop-up in the Park” event on June 15. The event will take place at Bowles C. Ford Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and at Fellwood Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

During these events, city staff will distribute free summer fun kits and cold refreshments while collecting survey responses from adult attendees. The survey is anonymous and takes approximately one minute to complete. The data collected will be used for planning future giveaways and neighborhood improvements.

The summer fun kits include a $20 Forsyth Farmers’ Market voucher, a reusable drawstring bag, a kickball, a jump rope, a cooling towel, and a rechargeable handheld fan. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

These pop-up events and giveaways are funded by the City through a CDC ACTion grant.

For more information about the goals of the ACTion grant, visit the City's website.
