The City of Savannah has introduced a new online portal for managing short-term vacation rentals (STVR) and enforcing the city's STVR ordinance. The software platform, Rentalscape, digitizes the application process for new applicants and annual renewals, allowing for submission of applications, uploading required documentation, and electronic payment options.

Residents can also file complaints regarding STVRs through the portal or by using a 24/7 hotline to speak with representatives about issues needing immediate attention. Complaints are directed to the City's Code Compliance Department to streamline enforcement efforts.

Additionally, Rentalscape offers a public portal that will display all STVR permits in real time later this summer. The software enables city staff to review revenue collected from STVRs to ensure accurate remittance of hotel/motel excise taxes and annual business licensing fees.

The City Council approved the purchase of the software on July 27, 2023, at a cost of $290,000 for a three-year contract.

The new portal and complaint hotline can be accessed at [website]. Complaints can also be made by calling (912) 226-0320.
