The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department will celebrate the opening of a new splashpad at Crusader Community Center on Wednesday, July 17.

The new aquatic venue features components such as full automation, zero depth water safety, and ADA compliance. Splashpads offer a way for people of all ages to cool off during the heat and encourage interactive play, socialization, and physical activity.

The new splashpad at Crusader Community Center marks the sixth installation completed over the past year with three additional pads currently under construction.

Completed at a cost of $110,000, the new splashpad is part of the City’s Recreation Re-Imagined initiative which was approved by City Council in 2021. The initiative focuses on re-thinking how recreation is delivered in Savannah and aims to enrich the lives of residents and guests by providing high-quality recreation experiences.

The Crusader Community Center splashpad will be active from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week through October.
