The City of Savannah’s Cultural Resources Department has introduced a new initiative aimed at involving high school students in the city’s arts and cultural programming. The Junior Cultural Affairs Commission (Jr. CAC) program offers youth the opportunity to earn volunteer hours by serving as advisors to the Cultural Affairs Commission.

Participants in the Jr. CAC program will review programs funded by Cultural-Contribution, provide feedback on how art and cultural activities affect local youth and their communities, and contribute to the development of future arts, culture, and history initiatives.

The program is open to students in grades 9-12 from both the Savannah Chatham County Public School System and private schools within Savannah. Applications for the Jr. CAC are due by August 31.

Interested students can apply through designated channels provided by the Office of Communications.
