Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools (SCCPSS) is set to conduct a Student Health and Wellness Survey for students in grades 6 through 12. This initiative aligns with Goal 1 of "The Way Forward 2026," the district's strategic plan, which aims to provide support and services for students' social and emotional learning.
The survey will be administered from May 8 to May 19, 2023. It is designed to be anonymous and brief, taking less than ten minutes to complete. The survey covers topics such as school climate, safety, and student well-being. Data collected will be self-reported by students and used in aggregate form to inform strategies for creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
Parents have the option to opt their children out of participating in the survey under the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). To do so, they must sign and return an opt-out form by May 5, 2023. Paper copies of the form are available upon request from schools.
Survey results will be made available on SCCPSS's website as part of "The Way Forward 2026 Strategic Plan Balanced Scorecard."
