The City of Savannah is preparing for the holiday season with several events and initiatives. A 40-foot Holiday Tree will be installed on Bull Street between Broughton Street and Congress Street on Monday, November 25. The annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, November 29 at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the tree lighting, the Holly Days Family Fun Event will take place in Ellis Square on Saturday, November 30 at 1 p.m. This event is organized in partnership with Savannah Holly Days presented by Visit Savannah. It will include activities from the Cultural Arts Center, holiday-themed entertainment, and appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

To accommodate these events, Bull Street between Broughton and Congress streets will be closed to traffic starting at 8 a.m. on Monday and remain closed through January 2025. No-parking zones are effective from Friday, November 22, with vehicles parked in restricted areas subject to towing.

The Mobility and Parking Services Department has announced its annual holiday parking specials. Free parking in city garages will be available on Friday, November 29 (Black Friday), Saturday, November 30 (Small Business Saturday), and Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day). Additionally, free parking will be offered from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from December 3 through December 25. Normal rates apply outside these times.
