Savannah city offices closed for Christmas holiday; sanitation schedule affected

City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed on December 24 and 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Emergency services will continue to operate.

Sanitation services will experience changes due to the holiday closures. Residential garbage and yard waste collection will not occur on December 24 and 25. These services will resume on December 26 with a one-day delay. There will be no recycling collection on December 25.

Street sweeping operations are also suspended for the evenings of December 24 and 25, resuming on December 26.

Both Dean Forest Road Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed on December 25, reopening on December 26 during regular hours.

Residents are advised to refer to their annual sanitation schedule packets for specific details regarding their route's collection day. For further information, residents can visit the city’s website or call (912) 651-6579.
