Savannah schedules public hearings on HB 581 homestead exemption opt-out

The City of Savannah plans to opt-out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption as implemented by Georgia House Bill 581. In connection with this decision, three public hearings are scheduled to take place at the SCCPSS Board of Education Room, located at the Eli Whitney Administrative Complex, 2 Laura Ave., Building G.

The first hearing is set for Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 2 p.m. Additional hearings will occur on the same day at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The city invites all concerned citizens to attend these sessions.
