The Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (GACVB) recently joined Governor Brian Kemp and tourism professionals from across the state to acknowledge the substantial impact of Georgia's tourism economy. The event took place at the State Capitol.

Jeff Hewitt, Chief Sales Officer of Visit Savannah and 2025 Chairman of GACVB, emphasized the significance of the industry. He stated, "This annual celebration honors the hardworking Georgians who dedicate themselves daily to welcoming visitors with our signature Southern hospitality."

The 2025 Tourism Day at the Capitol highlighted the industry's contributions. During this event, Jeff Hewitt presented Governor Kemp with a ceremonial check from GACVB and industry representatives. This check symbolized $5 billion in state and local tax revenue generated from tourism-related expenditures in 2024.

Tourism continues to be a vital economic force in Georgia, supporting 400,000 hospitality-related jobs—a five percent increase compared to the previous year.
