Southeast SC/GA Tropical History

Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ian was a good reminder to prepare our families as we move into the second half of hurricane season.

US National Weather Service Charleston SC reminded us of what can and has happened in the past.

On This Date....in 1898: 

The last major (Cat 3+) hurricane to make landfall in GA slammed ashore on Cumberland Island as a Category 4 hurricane causing significant storm surge flooding and wind damage.
