Raider Competitions are held at JROTC programs around the world and events take place outdoors, usually consisting of individual strength tests (i.e. push-ups, tire-drag, obstacle course, etc), distance team running events, first aid events and some form of rope bridge construction/crossing.
BC’s Raider Program began going to the state competitions in 2017 and it has quickly become one of the better programs in the state. In 2019, the Cadets won the state championship. In 2020, they were the favorites to win before COVID-19 forced an unofficial event rather than the official championships (BC won the unofficial event). Last year, the Cadets placed second, missing out on the championship by just one point. This year, they are state champions once again.
They have been the Area 1 Region Champions in each of the last five years.
There are three categories at each Raider event: male, female and mixed (at least four females). There are three tiers at State, based on the size of the school's JROTC program. BC is in Tier 3, the largest JROTC tier for Georgia programs.
The 2022 BC Raider team consists of 72 student-athletes, the largest team the school has ever fielded. Nationals will be a four-day event broken down as follows:
Day 1 – All Service Championships
Day 2 – All Army Challenge Championships (BC Maroon team will compete)
Day 3 – All Army Masters Championships (BC White Team)
Day 4 – Ultimate Raider Championships (Calvin Brown is BC’s Ultimate Raider)
