Office of Communications has announced that "All southbound lanes on Abercorn Street between 52nd and 54th Streets have been reopened following temporary repairs" to address a roadway failure. The cause of the failure was identified as a damaged stormwater pipe.

According to the same source, "Permanent repairs will take place beginning on Tuesday, April 2, and will necessitate southbound lanes again be closed and all traffic detoured at 52nd St." These repairs are expected to take a few days, and there will be no impact on the northbound lanes of Abercorn.

The closure of the southbound lanes was initially due to a roadway failure, with all traffic being detoured at 52nd St. The northbound lanes of Abercorn remained open during this time. City staff are actively assessing the situation and will provide updates to the public as they become available.

The Office of Communications advises the public to stay informed about the ongoing repairs and any further developments related to the traffic situation on Abercorn Street.
