SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah's Recreation and Leisure Services will celebrate the renovation of Forsyth Park's basketball courts with a ribbon cutting on April 12 at 2 p.m.
The nearly $190,000 project completely refaced a decades old basketball court with new infrastructure, including backboards, rims, fencing, and a new playing surface. According to the announcement, "The reconstruction of one of Savannah's most popular basketball courts was made possible by the City's Recreation Re-Imagined initiative."
Recreation Re-Imagined, launched by the City in 2022, is a continuous improvement initiative focused on re-thinking how recreation is delivered in Savannah. One of the key goals of this initiative is to enrich the lives of residents and guests by providing high-quality recreation experiences. The ribbon-cutting event is scheduled to take place at Forsyth Park, South end, on April 12 at 2 p.m.
Residents and basketball enthusiasts alike are invited to join in the celebration of the newly renovated basketball courts at Forsyth Park.
