The upcoming Westside Neighborhoods Celebration in Savannah on April 13, will mark the completion of a new public park and pedestrian mural outside the Enmarket Arena. The event, open to the public, will feature various activities and attractions for attendees to enjoy.

A dedication ceremony will be held for the pedestrian mural, which is the largest in Georgia. The mural was created by five different artist teams, selected through a competitive process. The artists included Amiri Farris, Cynthia Collins, Adolfo Alvarado, Matthew Hebermehl, Katherine Sandoz, Troy Wandzel, Jamie Bourgious, Brian MacGregor, Alfredo Martinez, Nae’Keisha Jones, Zay Hutchins, Tara Garrigan, Shay Garrigan, Caroline Rose, Sean Keeth, Olivai Morrison-Bressler, Cortney Fredette, and Tim Patterson.

Portions of the mural were painted with the assistance of children from the neighborhood and students from the Loop it Up program, adding a community touch to the artwork.

The Westside Neighborhoods Celebration will offer a range of activities, including food, music, games, fresh produce, inflatable bounce houses, and a slap shot cage organized by the Savannah Ghost Pirates, with their mascot, Davey, in attendance.

Various organizations will be participating in the community celebration, including the City of Savannah, the Enmarket Arena, Forsyth Farmers Market, Farm Truck 912, Bike Walk Savannah, United Way, Live Oak Public Libraries, Goodwill Southeast Georgia, Healthy Savannah, and Cloverdale Civic Improvement Association.

The event will take place outside the Enmarket Arena from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 13.
