The City of Savannah has announced its participation in Georgia Cities Week, set to begin on April 23. This annual event, sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association, aims to showcase the various services provided by municipalities across the state of Georgia.
As part of the celebrations, the City of Savannah will be hosting 10 open house events, allowing the public to explore different City service centers free of charge. The events will be held on Tuesday, April 23, Friday April 26, and Saturday April 27.
According to the City of Savannah, Georgia Cities Week provides an opportunity for cities to inform residents about the services they offer. The service centers that will be open to the public during the event include Community Services, Savannah Fire, Savannah Police, Information & Public Affairs, Government Operations, Management Services, Planning & Economic Development, and Water Resources.
The open house events will take place at various locations such as the Civic Center Ballroom, DeRenne Stormwater Pump Station, City Hall, Adams Complex, Savannah Impact Building, Savannah Entrepreneurial Center, Coastal Georgia Center, Savannah Cultural Arts Center, and Forsyth Park Fountain.
On Saturday, April 27, the Savannah Fire Department will be open for public visitation at Station 14 on Highlands Blvd. The City encourages residents to take part in these events to learn more about the services and operations within their community.
Georgia Cities Week serves as a platform for municipalities to engage with their residents and provide insights into the important work being done to enhance the quality of life in their respective cities.
