Savannah's Mayor Pro Tem and 5th District Alderwoman, Dr. Estella Edwards Shabazz, will be hosting a community meeting on Monday, April 29 to discuss the upcoming zoning actions required for the Fairgrounds redevelopment.
The Fairgrounds property, a 60-acre site located at 4801 Meding Street, is set to undergo a significant transformation. According to Dr. Estella Edwards Shabazz, the future mixed-use project will encompass a wide range of facilities and amenities including housing, film studios, a creative workforce innovation center, neighborhood commercial uses, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, playgrounds, a nature preserve, and other community amenities.
The event, titled "Town Hall | Zoning Actions for Fairgrounds," is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 29 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Liberty City Recreation Center, located at 1401 Mills B Lane Blvd.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the town hall meeting to learn more about the zoning actions that will shape the redevelopment of the Fairgrounds property.
