City Crews Respond to Sewage Spill on Stiles Ave.

SAVANNAH – City of Savannah staff responded to a sewage spill that occurred between Aug. 5 and 7 to the east of 598 Stiles Ave. due to major rain inflow to the sanitary sewer system resulting from Tropical Storm Debby.

An estimated 462,000 gallons spilled before the issue was mitigated. City staff responded to the impacted lift stations to control station operations and mitigate system overflows.

All agencies, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Health Department, and the City of Savannah Office of Communications, were notified per state guidelines.
