On March 17, Savannah will host its 201st St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the city's largest annual event. The City of Savannah's Sanitation Department will be fully deployed to manage cleanup during and after the parade.

Regular residential refuse collection and recycling services will not operate on Monday. Services will resume on Tuesday with a one-day delay. Residents should refer to their annual sanitation schedule packets for details on collection days or access the digital version online.

The city has designated Friday through Monday as event days, leading to roadway closures that may affect travel. Heavy traffic and delays are anticipated. Paradegoers are advised to arrive early, plan accordingly, park responsibly, and celebrate safely. For more information about parking, road closures, and other logistics, residents can visit the city’s website.

Enhanced security measures by the City of Savannah and the Savannah Police Department will be in place in areas affected by the parade. Attendees are encouraged to stay vigilant throughout the weekend. Anonymous tips with photos can be submitted via the SPD App.
