The City of Savannah’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Task Force will host the "Echoes of the East Festival" on May 1. This event is organized in partnership with the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Georgia Southern University.

The festival will include live music, cultural performances, food vendors, and artisan merchants. It will also offer educational community engagement opportunities to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander culture.

Open to the public without charge, the festival invites individuals and families from diverse backgrounds to participate in the AAPI heritage celebration. Free parking will also be available.

Established in 2021, the task force aims to give a voice to Savannahians of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. It seeks to promote harmonious relationships among the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities by bridging various cultures in Savannah while honoring their heritage and histories through education and celebration.

The event will take place on Thursday, May 1, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Georgia Southern Residential Plaza, located at 11935 Abercorn St.
