On April 15, 2025, Congressman Rick W. Allen joined Department of Veteran Affairs Secretary Doug Collins and Representative Austin Scott for a visit to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin. This visit marks the first time a VA Secretary has visited this facility in 15 years. During the tour, the officials engaged with veterans, facility leaders, and VA employees.

"Secretary Collins is committed to reforming the VA to better serve our nation’s Veterans and I am grateful that he took the time to visit the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin," Congressman Allen stated. He explained that the discussions with the leadership team, veterans, and staff centered on necessary improvements to ensure high-quality care for veterans.

VA Secretary Doug Collins emphasized, "Under President Trump, VA is putting Veterans first. That starts by having honest conversations like the ones we had in Dublin this week." Collins valued the chance to receive feedback from local veterans and staff to enhance VA services.

Congressman Austin Scott expressed his appreciation, saying, "I appreciate my long time friend, Secretary Collins, visiting the Dublin VA Hospital this week." Scott believes that veterans’ health care will improve under Collins' leadership.

The second Trump Administration has reportedly accomplished several milestones with the VA, such as processing a record number of disability claims, accelerating the deployment of an integrated electronic health record system, and reversing certain Biden-era policies.
