Savannah, April 29, 2024 - The City of Savannah has announced that a public hearing will be held to discuss the Housing and Community Development FY2025 One-Year Action Plan. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 8 at the Coastal Georgia Center Auditorium.
During the public hearing, City Departments will delve into the specifics of the plan, including current goals, objectives, strategies, and priorities for utilizing approximately $3.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnership funds in the year 2025.
Furthermore, the Department of Human Services will conduct a work session for ESG and CDBG grant applicants on Thursday, May 9 at 2 p.m., also at the Coastal Georgia Center Auditorium. Interested parties are reminded that all applications must be submitted no later than Monday, June 20 at 5 p.m.
The CDBG program, which aims to enhance urban communities by providing decent housing and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals, will focus its 2025 Public Service activities on reducing poverty and promoting self-sufficiency.
Similarly, the ESG program, which assists individuals experiencing homelessness by offering emergency shelter and intervention strategies, continues to play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable populations.
The HOME Investment Partnerships program, dedicated to creating affordable housing for very low-income individuals, remains committed to providing housing solutions for those in need.
