Bryan County Education: More students enrolled in Bryan County School District in 2022-23 school year

The only school district in Bryan County had rising enrollment in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

There were 9,884 students in the halls of Bryan County School District, 1.8% more than the year before.

Enrollment in Bryan County bucked the state's trend compared to the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 64% of the Bryan County School District's total enrollment.

Bryan County School District has a main office in Pembroke and is the only school district within Bryan County.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
