Destinations International CEO Summit convenes in Savannah for 2025 event

Savannah played host to the 2025 Destinations International CEO Summit, attracting over 300 tourism industry leaders from various locales, including several from international destinations. Executives convened in the city to exchange insights on tourism marketing, leadership, and destination development.

Joseph Marinelli, President and CEO of Visit Savannah, along with Scott White, CEO of Visit Palm Springs, served as co-chairs for the summit's planning committee. They integrated the unique elements of Savannah into the event, showcasing the city's distinct charm to attendees.

Special guests included Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and keynote speaker Richard Kessler, CEO of the Kessler Collection. Kessler discussed his strategy for successful leadership and hotel development, highlighting the importance of strong relationships with elected leaders, a capable team, and a passion for the community. Together with architect Christian Sottile, Kessler illustrated the transformation of Plant Riverside District and the JW Marriott as a case study of rejuvenation through vision and cooperation.

The summit concluded with a lively presentation from Jared Orton, President and General Manager of Savannah Bananas. Orton spoke about the innovation, fun, and growth associated with "Banana Ball," sharing insights particularly valuable for young professionals.

The 2025 CEO Summit showcased a blend of engaging sessions and genuine Savannah hospitality, offering a valuable and memorable experience for tourism leaders worldwide.
